Delphinus-Leader copia

Terminal Portuario Valparaíso (TPV) will receive its first Car Carrier since its concession began in Terminal 2 of the city on March 16 of this year.
The ship, named Delphinus Leader, is announced for Saturday June 18 at 08:00 hours according to the shipping planning of the Port of Valparaíso.
The general manager of TPV, Rubén Ramírez, commented on the arrival of the Car Carrier Delphinus Leader that “this is part of our strategy and conviction that Terminal 2 of the Port of Valparaíso is and can be projected as a multipurpose terminal where, although steel is its main base load, other types of loads such as automobiles can be taken care of. For this we have several challenges as a port, for example, expanding the capacity of Site 6 and being able to decongest Site 8, increase the vehicle evacuation capacity in such a way as to be able to optimize the use of backup areas, among other initiatives that we are going to push hard as TPV in conjunction with the EPV administration and we hope to have the support of the maritime authority and all related entities in order to strengthen Valparaíso’s position”.
Asked if more ships of this type will arrive, the executive explained that “we don’t know yet, there is nothing confirmed (…) for next month we have one announced as well.”
Regarding whether they should prepare at the terminal to receive the ship, Ramírez said that “yes, we are professionals and in all operations there must be a lot of planning; in this case with the importers, having the equipment and identifying the personnel with the skills to operate this type of cargo and that we know exists and with a lot of experience”.
“As TPV we come to contribute to the development of Valparaíso with concrete and feasible initiatives. We have finished with the dragging congestion of past months and now we want to add more loads”, concluded the TPV representative.
The Delphinus Leader was built in 1998 and sails under the Japanese flag. She has a length of 200 meters, a beam of 32 meters and a draft of 9 meters.
