{"id":4964,"date":"2022-02-25T15:30:59","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T18:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tpvsa.com\/agunsa-and-puerto-valparaiso-sign-a-concession-contract-to-operate-terminal-2\/"},"modified":"2022-08-02T14:37:58","modified_gmt":"2022-08-02T18:37:58","slug":"agunsa-and-puerto-valparaiso-sign-a-concession-contract-to-operate-terminal-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tpvsa.com\/en\/agunsa-and-puerto-valparaiso-sign-a-concession-contract-to-operate-terminal-2\/","title":{"rendered":"AGUNSA and Puerto Valpara\u00edso sign a concession contract to operate Terminal 2."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#1296e2;font-size:24px\">AGUNSA and Puerto Valpara\u00edso sign a concession contract to operate Terminal 2.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify has-text-color\" style=\"color:#494949;font-size:18px\">After obtaining the so-called breakwater transition tender, AGUNSA made official the award of the operation of Terminal 2 of Puerto Valpara\u00edso for the next 4 years, after signing the concession contract with Empresa Portuaria Valpara\u00edso (EPV).<br\/><br\/>In this way, as established in the bases of the process, after obtaining the necessary approval from the Court for the Defense of Free Competition (TDLC), AGUNSA will be able to begin operations as of March 16.<br\/><br\/>The General Manager of Terminal Portuario Valpara\u00edso (TPV), a subsidiary of AGUNSA, Rub\u00e9n Ram\u00edrez, valued the impact that the operation will have on port activity in the area: &#8220;We are very happy and proud to once again position ourselves in Valpara\u00edso, a city where the family Urenda has maintained a permanent interest in contributing to its development. For AGUNSA, port activity has always been one of its strategic growth pillars and this concession confirms it, considering the variety of ports where we are operating in Chile and other Latin American countries. Being in Valpara\u00edso is a first step towards being a relevant actor for the next concession process\u201d.<br\/><br\/>For his part, Franco Gandolfo, general manager of Empresa Portuaria Valpara\u00edso, highlighted: &#8220;We appreciate that this process has been carried out in an impeccable manner in terms of transparency and with incumbents and non-incumbents interested in operating the Breakwater, demonstrating the interest that the companies to bet on Valpara\u00edso and to invest in the port activity of our city. Without a doubt, this is an important step for the reactivation of the commune considering the great engine of well-being and economic growth that the port is for Valpara\u00edso, and also considering the increase in competitiveness that this new operator will imply\u201d.<br\/><br\/>AGUNSA will maintain the operation of Terminal 2 until March 2026, a period in which EPV will have the task of carrying out the final tender to finalize the port expansion.
